讗 讗ֵ诇ֶּ讛 讛ַ讚ְּ讘ָ专ִ讬诐, 讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专 讚ִּ讘ֶּ专 诪ֹ砖ֶׁ讛 讗ֶ诇-讻ָּ诇-讬ִ砖ְׂ专ָ讗ֵ诇, 讘ְּ注ֵ讘ֶ专, 讛ַ讬ַּ专ְ讚ֵּ谉: 讘ַּ诪ִּ讚ְ讘ָּ专 讘ָּ注ֲ专ָ讘ָ讛 诪讜ֹ诇 住讜ּ祝 讘ֵּ讬谉-驻ָּ讗专ָ谉 讜ּ讘ֵ讬谉-转ֹּ驻ֶ诇, 讜ְ诇ָ讘ָ谉 讜ַ讞ֲ爪ֵ专ֹ转--讜ְ讚ִ讬 讝ָ讛ָ讘. 1
These are the words which Moses spoke unto all Israel beyond the Jordan; in the wilderness, in the Arabah, over against Suph, between Paran and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Di-zahab.
讘 讗ַ讞ַ讚 注ָ砖ָׂ专 讬讜ֹ诐 诪ֵ讞ֹ专ֵ讘, 讚ֶּ专ֶ讱ְ 讛ַ专-砖ֵׂ注ִ讬专, 注ַ讚, 拽ָ讚ֵ砖ׁ 讘ַּ专ְ谞ֵ注ַ. 2
It is eleven days journey from Horeb unto Kadesh-barnea by the way of mount Seir.
讙 讜ַ讬ְ讛ִ讬 讘ְּ讗ַ专ְ讘ָּ注ִ讬诐 砖ָׁ谞ָ讛, 讘ְּ注ַ砖ְׁ转ֵּ讬-注ָ砖ָׂ专 讞ֹ讚ֶ砖ׁ 讘ְּ讗ֶ讞ָ讚 诇ַ讞ֹ讚ֶ砖ׁ; 讚ִּ讘ֶּ专 诪ֹ砖ֶׁ讛, 讗ֶ诇-讘ְּ谞ֵ讬 讬ִ砖ְׂ专ָ讗ֵ诇, 讻ְּ讻ֹ诇 讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专 爪ִ讜ָּ讛 讬ְ讛讜ָ讛 讗ֹ转讜ֹ, 讗ֲ诇ֵ讛ֶ诐. 3
And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in commandment unto them;
讚 讗ַ讞ֲ专ֵ讬 讛ַ讻ֹּ转讜ֹ, 讗ֵ转 住ִ讬讞ֹ谉 诪ֶ诇ֶ讱ְ 讛ָ讗ֱ诪ֹ专ִ讬, 讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专 讬讜ֹ砖ֵׁ讘, 讘ְּ讞ֶ砖ְׁ讘ּ讜ֹ谉--讜ְ讗ֵ转, 注讜ֹ讙 诪ֶ诇ֶ讱ְ 讛ַ讘ָּ砖ָׁ谉, 讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专-讬讜ֹ砖ֵׁ讘 讘ְּ注ַ砖ְׁ转ָּ专ֹ转, 讘ְּ讗ֶ讚ְ专ֶ注ִ讬. 4 after he had smitten Sihon the king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, who dwelt in Ashtaroth, at Edrei;
讛 讘ְּ注ֵ讘ֶ专 讛ַ讬ַּ专ְ讚ֵּ谉, 讘ְּ讗ֶ专ֶ抓 诪讜ֹ讗ָ讘, 讛讜ֹ讗ִ讬诇 诪ֹ砖ֶׁ讛, 讘ֵּ讗ֵ专 讗ֶ转-讛ַ转ּ讜ֹ专ָ讛 讛ַ讝ֹּ讗转 诇ֵ讗诪ֹ专. 5
beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, took Moses upon him to expound this law, saying:
讜 讬ְ讛讜ָ讛 讗ֱ诇ֹ讛ֵ讬谞讜ּ 讚ִּ讘ֶּ专 讗ֵ诇ֵ讬谞讜ּ, 讘ְּ讞ֹ专ֵ讘 诇ֵ讗诪ֹ专: 专ַ讘-诇ָ讻ֶ诐 砖ֶׁ讘ֶ转, 讘ָּ讛ָ专 讛ַ讝ֶּ讛. 6
The LORD our God spoke unto us in Horeb, saying:
'Ye have dwelt long enough in this mountain;
讝 驻ְּ谞讜ּ 讜ּ住ְ注讜ּ 诇ָ讻ֶ诐, 讜ּ讘ֹ讗讜ּ 讛ַ专 讛ָ讗ֱ诪ֹ专ִ讬 讜ְ讗ֶ诇-讻ָּ诇-砖ְׁ讻ֵ谞ָ讬讜, 讘ָּ注ֲ专ָ讘ָ讛 讘ָ讛ָ专 讜ּ讘ַ砖ְּׁ驻ֵ诇ָ讛 讜ּ讘ַ谞ֶּ讙ֶ讘, 讜ּ讘ְ讞讜ֹ祝 讛ַ讬ָּ诐--讗ֶ专ֶ抓 讛ַ讻ְּ谞ַ注ֲ谞ִ讬 讜ְ讛ַ诇ְּ讘ָ谞讜ֹ谉, 注ַ讚-讛ַ谞ָּ讛ָ专 讛ַ讙ָּ讚ֹ诇 谞ְ讛ַ专-驻ְּ专ָ转. 7
turn you, and take your journey, and go to the hill-country of the Amorites and unto all the places
nigh thereunto, in the Arabah, in the hill-country, and in the Lowland, and in the South, and by the
sea-shore; the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.
讞 专ְ讗ֵ讛 谞ָ转ַ转ִּ讬 诇ִ驻ְ谞ֵ讬讻ֶ诐, 讗ֶ转-讛ָ讗ָ专ֶ抓; 讘ֹּ讗讜ּ, 讜ּ专ְ砖ׁ讜ּ 讗ֶ转-讛ָ讗ָ专ֶ抓, 讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专 谞ִ砖ְׁ讘ַּ注 讬ְ讛讜ָ讛 诇ַ讗ֲ讘ֹ转ֵ讬讻ֶ诐 诇ְ讗ַ讘ְ专ָ讛ָ诐 诇ְ讬ִ爪ְ讞ָ拽 讜ּ诇ְ讬ַ注ֲ拽ֹ讘 诇ָ转ֵ转 诇ָ讛ֶ诐, 讜ּ诇ְ讝ַ专ְ注ָ诐 讗ַ讞ֲ专ֵ讬讛ֶ诐. 8
Behold, I have set the land before you:
go in and possess the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to
Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.'
讟 讜ָ讗ֹ诪ַ专 讗ֲ诇ֵ讻ֶ诐, 讘ָּ注ֵ转 讛ַ讛ִ讜讗 诇ֵ讗诪ֹ专: 诇ֹ讗-讗讜ּ讻ַ诇 诇ְ讘ַ讚ִּ讬, 砖ְׂ讗ֵ转 讗ֶ转ְ讻ֶ诐. 9
And I spoke unto you at that time, saying:
'I am not able to bear you myself alone;
讬 讬ְ讛讜ָ讛 讗ֱ诇ֹ讛ֵ讬讻ֶ诐, 讛ִ专ְ讘ָּ讛 讗ֶ转ְ讻ֶ诐; 讜ְ讛ִ谞ְּ讻ֶ诐 讛ַ讬ּ讜ֹ诐, 讻ְּ讻讜ֹ讻ְ讘ֵ讬 讛ַ砖ָּׁ诪ַ讬ִ诐 诇ָ专ֹ讘. 10
the LORD your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.--
讬讗 讬ְ讛讜ָ讛 讗ֱ诇ֹ讛ֵ讬 讗ֲ讘讜ֹ转ֵ讻ֶ诐, 讬ֹ住ֵ祝 注ֲ诇ֵ讬讻ֶ诐 讻ָּ讻ֶ诐--讗ֶ诇ֶ祝 驻ְּ注ָ诪ִ讬诐; 讜ִ讬讘ָ专ֵ讱ְ 讗ֶ转ְ讻ֶ诐, 讻ַּ讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专 讚ִּ讘ֶּ专 诇ָ讻ֶ诐. 11
The LORD, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as He hath promised you!--
讬讘 讗ֵ讬讻ָ讛 讗ֶ砖ָּׂ讗, 诇ְ讘ַ讚ִּ讬, 讟ָ专ְ讞ֲ讻ֶ诐 讜ּ诪ַ砖ַּׂ讗ֲ讻ֶ诐, 讜ְ专ִ讬讘ְ讻ֶ诐. 12
How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?
讬讙 讛ָ讘讜ּ 诇ָ讻ֶ诐 讗ֲ谞ָ砖ִׁ讬诐 讞ֲ讻ָ诪ִ讬诐 讜ּ谞ְ讘ֹ谞ִ讬诐, 讜ִ讬讚ֻ注ִ讬诐--诇ְ砖ִׁ讘ְ讟ֵ讬讻ֶ诐; 讜ַ讗ֲ砖ִׂ讬诪ֵ诐, 讘ְּ专ָ讗砖ֵׁ讬讻ֶ诐. 13
Get you, from each one of your tribes, wise men, and understanding, and full of knowledge, and I will make them heads over you.'
讬讚 讜ַ转ַּ注ֲ谞讜ּ, 讗ֹ转ִ讬; 讜ַ转ֹּ讗诪ְ专讜ּ, 讟讜ֹ讘-讛ַ讚ָּ讘ָ专 讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专-讚ִּ讘ַּ专ְ转ָּ 诇ַ注ֲ砖ׂ讜ֹ转. 14
And ye answered me, and said: 'The thing which thou hast spoken is good for us to do.'
讟讜 讜ָ讗ֶ拽ַּ讞 讗ֶ转-专ָ讗砖ֵׁ讬 砖ִׁ讘ְ讟ֵ讬讻ֶ诐, 讗ֲ谞ָ砖ִׁ讬诐 讞ֲ讻ָ诪ִ讬诐 讜ִ讬讚ֻ注ִ讬诐, 讜ָ讗ֶ转ֵּ谉 讗讜ֹ转ָ诐 专ָ讗砖ִׁ讬诐, 注ֲ诇ֵ讬讻ֶ诐: 砖ָׂ专ֵ讬 讗ֲ诇ָ驻ִ讬诐 讜ְ砖ָׂ专ֵ讬 诪ֵ讗讜ֹ转, 讜ְ砖ָׂ专ֵ讬 讞ֲ诪ִ砖ִּׁ讬诐 讜ְ砖ָׂ专ֵ讬 注ֲ砖ָׂ专ֹ转, 讜ְ砖ֹׁ讟ְ专ִ讬诐, 诇ְ砖ִׁ讘ְ讟ֵ讬讻ֶ诐. 15
So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and full of knowledge, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, tribe by tribe.
讟讝 讜ָ讗ֲ爪ַ讜ֶּ讛, 讗ֶ转-砖ֹׁ驻ְ讟ֵ讬讻ֶ诐, 讘ָּ注ֵ转 讛ַ讛ִ讜讗, 诇ֵ讗诪ֹ专: 砖ָׁ诪ֹ注ַ 讘ֵּ讬谉-讗ֲ讞ֵ讬讻ֶ诐 讜ּ砖ְׁ驻ַ讟ְ转ֶּ诐 爪ֶ讚ֶ拽, 讘ֵּ讬谉-讗ִ讬砖ׁ 讜ּ讘ֵ讬谉-讗ָ讞ִ讬讜 讜ּ讘ֵ讬谉 讙ֵּ专讜ֹ. 16
And I charged your judges at that time, saying:
'Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.
讬讝 诇ֹ讗-转ַ讻ִּ讬专讜ּ 驻ָ谞ִ讬诐 讘ַּ诪ִּ砖ְׁ驻ָּ讟, 讻ַּ拽ָּ讟ֹ谉 讻ַּ讙ָּ讚ֹ诇 转ִּ砖ְׁ诪ָ注讜ּ谉--诇ֹ讗 转ָ讙讜ּ专讜ּ 诪ִ驻ְּ谞ֵ讬-讗ִ讬砖ׁ, 讻ִּ讬 讛ַ诪ִּ砖ְׁ驻ָּ讟 诇ֵ讗诇ֹ讛ִ讬诐 讛讜ּ讗; 讜ְ讛ַ讚ָּ讘ָ专 讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专 讬ִ拽ְ砖ֶׁ讛 诪ִ讻ֶּ诐, 转ַּ拽ְ专ִ讘讜ּ谉 讗ֵ诇ַ讬 讜ּ砖ְׁ诪ַ注ְ转ִּ讬讜. 17
Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; ye shall hear the small and the great alike; ye shall not be afraid of the face of any man; for the judgment is God's; and the cause that is too hard for you ye shall bring unto me, and I will hear it.'

讟讜 讜ָ讗ֶ拽ַּ讞 讗ֶ转-专ָ讗砖ֵׁ讬 砖ִׁ讘ְ讟ֵ讬讻ֶ诐, 讗ֲ谞ָ砖ִׁ讬诐 讞ֲ讻ָ诪ִ讬诐 讜ִ讬讚ֻ注ִ讬诐, 讜ָ讗ֶ转ֵּ谉 讗讜ֹ转ָ诐 专ָ讗砖ִׁ讬诐, 注ֲ诇ֵ讬讻ֶ诐: 砖ָׂ专ֵ讬 讗ֲ诇ָ驻ִ讬诐 讜ְ砖ָׂ专ֵ讬 诪ֵ讗讜ֹ转, 讜ְ砖ָׂ专ֵ讬 讞ֲ诪ִ砖ִּׁ讬诐 讜ְ砖ָׂ专ֵ讬 注ֲ砖ָׂ专ֹ转, 讜ְ砖ֹׁ讟ְ专ִ讬诐, 诇ְ砖ִׁ讘ְ讟ֵ讬讻ֶ诐. 15
So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and full of knowledge, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, tribe by tribe.
讟讝 讜ָ讗ֲ爪ַ讜ֶּ讛, 讗ֶ转-砖ֹׁ驻ְ讟ֵ讬讻ֶ诐, 讘ָּ注ֵ转 讛ַ讛ִ讜讗, 诇ֵ讗诪ֹ专: 砖ָׁ诪ֹ注ַ 讘ֵּ讬谉-讗ֲ讞ֵ讬讻ֶ诐 讜ּ砖ְׁ驻ַ讟ְ转ֶּ诐 爪ֶ讚ֶ拽, 讘ֵּ讬谉-讗ִ讬砖ׁ 讜ּ讘ֵ讬谉-讗ָ讞ִ讬讜 讜ּ讘ֵ讬谉 讙ֵּ专讜ֹ. 16
And I charged your judges at that time, saying:
'Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.
讬讝 诇ֹ讗-转ַ讻ִּ讬专讜ּ 驻ָ谞ִ讬诐 讘ַּ诪ִּ砖ְׁ驻ָּ讟, 讻ַּ拽ָּ讟ֹ谉 讻ַּ讙ָּ讚ֹ诇 转ִּ砖ְׁ诪ָ注讜ּ谉--诇ֹ讗 转ָ讙讜ּ专讜ּ 诪ִ驻ְּ谞ֵ讬-讗ִ讬砖ׁ, 讻ִּ讬 讛ַ诪ִּ砖ְׁ驻ָּ讟 诇ֵ讗诇ֹ讛ִ讬诐 讛讜ּ讗; 讜ְ讛ַ讚ָּ讘ָ专 讗ֲ砖ֶׁ专 讬ִ拽ְ砖ֶׁ讛 诪ִ讻ֶּ诐, 转ַּ拽ְ专ִ讘讜ּ谉 讗ֵ诇ַ讬 讜ּ砖ְׁ诪ַ注ְ转ִּ讬讜. 17
Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; ye shall hear the small and the great alike; ye shall not be afraid of the face of any man; for the judgment is God's; and the cause that is too hard for you ye shall bring unto me, and I will hear it.'
